Honey Cream Treats

A healthy treat for some restrictive diets.
Accepted on the GAPS Diet.

1/2 cup Coconut Oil at room temperature
1/2 cup Raw Honey
1 drop doTERRA Essential Oil of choice
(Try Ginger, Cinnamon, OnGuard, Peppermint/Spearmint, or a Citrus oil)

Mix together well and place drops on a plate or small sheet pan in freezer for 30 minutes. You can also use ice cube trays.

Grilled Burger with Maple Mustard Glaze and Pork Loin Slices

This was a last minute recipe using leftover pork loin from the night before. Plan ahead and have burgers the next time you have leftover pork slices.
​
1 lbs ground meat of choice, pork/beef/turkey
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
GLAZE
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 tablespoons grainy mustard
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon honey
2 drops doTERRA Wild Orange Essential Oil
TOPPINGS
​4 slices cheese of choice
4 thick slices of cooked pork loin
1 shallots, finely diced or onion
1/2 jalapeno, finely diced
1/4 cup tomato sauce
French Fried Onions or Crispy Fried Chicken Skins


In a medium size bowl combine the ground meat, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
Heat grill to high. Oil the grill. (I use oil on a paper towel rub the grates.)
In a medium size bowl whisk together all glaze ingredients.
Spray pan and saute shallots/onions and peppers. Add tomato sauce. Set aside and keep warm.
Brush the pork burgers with prepared glaze. Place on grill and continue basting and turning every 2 minutes or until slightly crisp on exterior. Half way through, start grilling pork slices until they are warmed through, basting as you go. Add cheese to burgers for final 2 minutes of cooking time, and top with grilled pork slices.
Assemble on bun of choice or just on a plate and top with tomato/onion/pepper mixture, then fried onions.

Lemon Turmeric Smoothie

​1 cup plain, organic Greek yogurt (I use A2A2 yogurt)
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup coconut milk
2 tablespoons local honey
2 drops doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil
1 drop doTERRA Turmeric Essential Oil
2 tablespoons chia seeds

Blend all ingredients except chia seeds in blender. Add chia seeds and blend for a brief few seconds just to mix them in to the smoothie. Please note that the chia seeds will thicken upon standing, so take that into consideration if you'll be letting the mixture sit for any length of time.

Grilled Lemon and Honey Mustard Miso Tuna

1/3 cup Miso Paste
1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar
1 tablespoon Mustard
1 tablespoon Raw Honey
1 drop doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil
Salt and Pepper
2 thick Tuna Steaks
1 teaspoon Everything Bagel Seasoning

​Heat grill on high.
Mix miso paste, vinegar, mustard, honey, and lemon oil.
Dry tuna steaks with paper towel. Salt and pepper each on both sides.
Baste tuna steaks on one side with the miso paste mixture.
Place steaks on hot grill, sauce side up, and grill for 2-3 minutes. Turn over, add sauce to grilled side and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning. Grill for 2 more minutes. Remove and let sit 5 minutes.

Note:
I let my tuna steaks sit out for 30 minutes to an hour before grilling.
When you remove the tuna from the grill, some of the sauce will stick, but quite a bit will still be on the tuna.
