Holiday Greeting Card and Wrapping Paper Scent

12/10/2016

Here is a handy little trick to make your holiday greeting cards and wrapping paper even more memorable..
In a 2 ml dark glass vial or bottle, add the following:
-10 drops Orange
-5 drops Ginger
-8 drops Cinnamon
-1 drop Clove
Put 1-3 drops of the blend onto a cotton ball. The intent is to lightly fragrance the cards. Using too much essential oil can potentially cause the cards to have an intense aroma that some recipients may not appreciate. Put up to 15 cards and the cotton ball in a large ziplock bag, seal, and let it sit for at least 24 hours.
This might sound like a crazy idea, but I guarantee that the recipients of your presents/cards will never forget the moment they received this wonderful treat.
Happy Holidays to you and your family

Remove Sticker Residue

If you have sticker residue after removing a price tag, try Wild Orange or Lemon Essential to remove it. This book was really old and had remnants from an old sticker. It wasn't gooey, it was hard and really stuck on. I was damaging the book trying to remove it with my fingernails. I tried Wild Orange oil, and voila! In less than a minute I had removed all the residue with just a paper towel.

You can’t get enough pumpkin during the holiday season which is why I am including this Mini Pumpkin Pie recipe in our survival kit which can be found here: http://bit.ly/2eZGkrV
Ingredients:
2 cups pureed pumpkin
1 large egg
1/4 cup egg whites
1/2 cup milk of choice
3 tsp melted butter or coconut oil
1/3 cup brown sugar or honey
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 drops Clove essential oil
2 drops Ginger essential oil
3 drops Cassia or Cinnamon essential oil
1 uncooked pie crust
*makes enough for 12 mini pies or 1 medium sized pie
Directions:
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-Take pie crust and cut out circles to fit inside greased muffin tin. Don't roll the dough out too thin or else the pie will fall apart after its cooked.
-In a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients until smooth.
-Evenly divide the pie filling into pie crust.
-Bake for 30-45 minutes or until crust lightly browns and when a toothpick inserted into the pies come out clean.
-Let sit for 10 minutes, or until cool. Gently remove from pan and refrigerate.

The holidays always motivate me to create an environment that engages all of the senses. This is why having a fire place lit with burning wood is so warm on many levels as it creates the ambience of safety and security.
One way to take this experience to the next level is with a really special diffuser blend that I call “Cozy Up By the Fire” and it consists of the following…
-3 drop clove
-3 drops wild orange
-2 drops black pepper

Meaningful and healthy holiday gifts are often difficult to come by and represent a drain on your bank account, plus the time to even find the “perfect present.”
This is why I always look for DIY creations that offer multiple levels of value and creating Essential Oil Moisturizing Lotion Bars are the perfect gift.
They feel great...
They smell great…
They perform wonders…
And everyone loves the ability to use this product over time.
A great recipe, which is also easy and inexpensive is the following:
Ingredients:
-⅔ cup beeswax
-½ cup coconut oil
-½ cup cocoa butter
-1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
-15 drops of essential oil
Directions:
-Add all ingredients (minus the essential oils) into a large glass jar and place the jar in a saucepan with 1.5 inches of boiling water.
-Make sure to stir all of the ingredients until they are completely combined and melted and then remove from heat and rest for 3 minutes.
-Add essential oils and stir until everything is mixed together and then pour into a silicone mold. Let them cool and then you can pop them out of the mold and wrap them in plastic wrap or fun paper.
When trying to figure out which essential oils to use, I recommend considering peppermint, lavender, or even grapefruit.
