To Dilute or Not Dilute... that is the question.

Is neat (undiluted) application more effective?

Carrier oils, such as Fractionated Coconut Oil, help trap volatile compounds which minimizes evaporation and enhances penetration through the skin.

Large molecule carrier oils (argan oil, rose-hip oil, jojoba oil, ...) are greasy and do not absorb well. They are used to provide a layer of protection on your skin.

Small molecules, like water, absorb too quickly and do not protect/trap essential oil volatiles.

Medium-chain triglycerides of Fractionated Coconut Oil absorb well and protect essential oil volatiles from evaporating.

Topical application is great, especially using massage. It stimulates the dilution of blood vessels resulting in improved skin absorption of volatile compounds.

• Use as an inhaler as long as aroma lasts. You can also just leave the open bottle in a room for deodorizing.
• Make your own blends to keep on hand. Works great for your favorite diffuser blends.
• Get a spray top for your bottles. You can use it neat or use empty bottles for an mini air or fabric freshener, travel disinfecting spray, "Owie" spray, itch spray, pillow/mattress spray, and my favorite, Perfume. 
• Great for a travel Hand Sanitizer. Add a spray top.
• Insert a cotton ball and let sit a couple days. Use cotton ball in bottom of trash cans, your car, or in your shoes to keep them fresh. You can even vacuum it up for freshness as you clean.
• Fill with baking soda and let sit overnight for a carpet refresher or dry shampoo for your dog!
• Keep by your bedside with a Sleepy Spray
• Fill with Witch Hazel for a Hand Sanitizer. (Try Melaleuca, Lavender and Lemon, but there are other blends that are good, too.) Add carrier oil if you want more or a moisturizing effect.
• Add sea salt to empty bottles of Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, or a Citrus oil. Let sit overnight, then spread on plate to dry for a few hours. Keep in airtight jar. Great flavored sea salt.
• Use for Anti-Itch Spray or any skin spray you want to take on the go.
• Fill with carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil, ...) add an extra few drops of your favorite oil, shake gently, and use for a face serum or toner. You can also dd Vitamin E oil or Aloe Vera.
• Have a little mini Smelling Salts for when you have those respiratory issues. 
• Purchase Roller Fitments that can turn your bottle in to a roller ball.
• Also great to use for sharing oils. Just add a few drops and pass the word about how great these oils are.
