Feeling a like congested? Here’s a great way to up-cycle your empty essential oil bottles to help support clear breathing Fill an empty essential oil bottle with Epsom salt. Add 4 drops of essential oil. Try 1 drop each eucalyptus, peppermint, lemon, and lavender. Breathe also works great, but you can also use peppermint or eucalyptus. Shake to mix well. Make sure you replace the cap back on bottle in-between uses. I love this spray. It is great for kids. Make their own little spray bottle with their name on it and have them spray their bedding or pillow before climbing into bed. I like giving this as a gift along with a nice fluffy pillow. You can use a glass spray bottle, or try using an empty (or almost empty) 15ml essential oil bottle. Add 2-3 drops of essential oil to the bottle. I love Serenity, but Lavender, Cedarwood, Thyme, Frankincense, or your favorite relaxing oils work well, too. Fill the rest of the 15ml bottle with distilled or cooled boiled water. (Be sure you leave a little room at the top for the sprayer.) Add a pinch of Epsom salt, if you have it. (This will help the essential oil to mix a little better with the water.) Put on the new spray top. (Contact me if you need one.) Gently shake to mix the water and essential oils. Forget Sleepytime Tea. This is the bomb! 1/4 cups of Cocoa Butter (or Shea Butter) 1/4 cups of coconut oil 20 drops Lavender (and/or Ylang Ylang) 12 drops Grounding blend 10 drops Frankincense Other oils to use: you can substitute any of the above oils with Ylang Ylang, Roman Chamomile, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Clary Sage, or Calming Blend. All these oils promote relaxation and a restful night’s sleep! You can buy all your Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils by clicking on the "Purchase Products" link above. Add the coconut oil and the cocoa butter to a small pan and simmer till melted. Let it rest on the counter for 10 minutes. Add the essential oils to the pan and then put it in the fridge for an hour. You want it to be firm but not too hard. Then whip it on high with an electric mixer until the mixture softens and forms peaks. Another option is to pour it directly into the jar. It won't be "whipped" but still very effective. HOW TO APPLY: Take a small pea-sized amount and massage it into your feet or your children’s feet before bed. 1 cup organic solid coconut oil 1 cup organic olive oil 4 tablespoons beeswax pastilles 1/2 teaspoon vitamin e oil (optional) 12 drops each of the following: Lavender essential oil Lemon essential oil Melaleuca essential oil Four - 4 oz glass mason jars For convenience and easy pouring, use a glass Pyrex measuring bowl with a spout and handle for melting coconut and olive oils, set it inside a deep saucepan with 3 inches hot water. On low heat, slowly heat the coconut oil, olive oil and beeswax. Melt slowly, be careful not to let any water splash into the oils, this could cause mold issues. Stir occasionally to keep the beeswax melting in. When the coconut oil, olive oil and beeswax have melted completely, add vitamin e oil (if using) and stir gently. Stir in essential oils. Fill 1/4 inch from the top of each jar, cover with a paper towel and let sit at least 6 hours until solid. Seal snugly with lid. Shelf life of All Purpose Healing Salve is approximately 4 to 6 months without vitamin e oil added (preservative). With vitamin e, approximately 6 to 8 months. Remember, coconut oil will melt at 76 degrees, store in a dark, cool place for best results. GREAT FOR GIFT GIVING! 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil 1 Tablespoon of Cacao Butter or Raw Shea Butter 1 Tablespoon of Beeswax Pastilles 1/4 Teaspoon of Castor Oil for shine 1/4 Teaspoon of Vanilla Essential Oils: 4 drops of Cinnamon Bark, 4 drops of Ginger, and 4 drops of Clove. Small Containers or reused lip balm tubes Add the coconut oil to a small pan and simmer till melted. Add the beeswax pellets and cacao/or shea butter and simmer for about 5-10 minutes till melted. (You can leave the butter out in the winter but, it helps hold the balm together during the hot summer months.) Add the castor oil. Stir and remove from stove. Let sit till the mixture is warm to the touch, but not thick. It’s easier to pour into containers when it is still liquid. Add in the vanilla and essential oils. Stir. Pour into your containers.
